We currently offer three small campuses. Our first are the private domes in Altamont, TN, about one hour from Nashville and Chattanooga. All three have stunning mountaintop views. The domes in Center Hill Lake offer stunning lake views and luxurious finishes. On the Ocoee River, the Conestoga wagons of Welcome Valley are the perfect getaway for three groups or families. The wagon corral surrounds a large shared firepit, and each wagon has a private, dedicated, luxury campground bathroom outside the actual wagon.

You can arrive any time that suits you; however, because of the somewhat remote locations in Altamont and Smithville, things get rather dark, and we try to avoid aggressively lighting the approach to preserve the stunning night sky views. The wagons of Ocoee are in a gated riverside resort called Welcome Valley Village and are always well-lit at night.

We do advise that you come prepared. The closest supermarket to the Altamont campus is in Manchester, TN, and in Smithville, it’s about a 20-minute drive to the supermarket. Likewise, on the Ocoee River, the wagons are about 20 minutes from the nearest Walmart or Food City.

Yes, firewood is provided onsite. However, we recommend purchasing firewood before your stay (save 20%) during checkout. If you are staying at a dome in Altamont or Smithville, a tote of about 15 logs will be delivered before your stay, awaiting your arrival if you purchase in advance.

At Welcome Valley Village on the Ocoee River, we have bundles of firewood in a covered hut that you can pick up if you paid in advance or pay for when you pick them up (though discounts will not apply).

Yes, in fact, we do! Tennessee Glamping is owned by Timberroot Rustic Retreats, based in Chattanooga, TN. We plan to develop glamping accommodations in Chattanooga and through a sister label on a campus bordering Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina.
